OEHHA, the agency that manages California's Prop 65 legislation, adopted the proposed revisions to the clear and reasonable warnings requirements for Prop 65 on August 30th, 2016. These new warning requirements had a two year phase in period and became effective on August, 30th, 2018. The new requirements include identifying at least one substance on the Prop 65 list in the product, adding a pictogram, and URL to the lead agency website. The one substance identification is for each end point in the warning. Products manufactured before August 30th, 2018 can still use the current warning system so no re-labeling will be required.  Companies can continue to use the current warning or use the updated warning during the transition period.
